So often people looking to buy
a second hand Caravan find in their search a Cotswold Windrush, that meets
their needs and price. Due to its build quality and design their useful life
span has far acceded the life of the Manufacturer. Production by Cotswold
Coachcraft ceased in 1988 and continued to be manufactured by the then new
owner Swift until 1990. It says something of the build quality when Cotswold
Caravans circa 1976 can still be seen on the Rally field
From time to time new owners make enquiries
regarding serviceable parts or information as to how certain items of fitted
equipment work etc. Unfortunately we “The Windrush Club” are unable to offer
printed information or verbal information over the phone. Such information
would of course be readily available on the Rally field from fellow Rallier’s,
one of the many plus points of being a Club member So why not join the club (
note if you Caravan with a friend who has a van of a different manufacture they
are welcome to join the Club.
One must remember that as with most caravans
the manufacturer designs and assembles the body work i.e. the shed so to speak,
all else is sourced from out side suppliers.
Details of manufacture along with model and serial number can be found on each
individual item including chassis, fridge, heating, Hitch assembly lights and
so forth.
Occasionally Non Club member owners contact us
requiring information regarding
disposal of their beloved Cotswold Windrush Caravan. We the Windrush Club are
unable to offer any help in the selling or marketing of their vans what so
ever, that remains the owners responsibility to seek out their own would be purchaser When all else has been
explored I believe the Camping and Caravan Club have details of Caravan
breakers.
